Answer:
Absolutely! And you'll be in good company - Kerpoof is used in
thousands of classrooms, school computer labs, and libraries. We provide a
wealth of free resources for educators here on the Kerpoof Scholastics pages,
including lesson plans, classroom ideas, and an e-newsletter. You can always get here
from the Kerpoof homepage by clicking
the "For Teachers" button (in the shape of an apple, or course!) or by typing
www.kerpoof.com/teach into
your browser's url window.
Answer:
No. For school-related use, your students can enter your e-mail address instead.
For teachers, Kerpoof provides a much more convenient way to set up and administer student accounts - one that will not ask for e-mail addresses from students. The first step is to sign up for a Teacher Account. This will allow you to easily register an entire class of students (or multiple classes) and assign them usernames and passwords. A Teacher Account will also give you access to the Teacher Tools page, allowing you to limit what your students do on Kerpoof, give them access to optional features, reset passwords, add or disable user accounts, and much more. Answer:
Kerpoof asks for a parent's e-mail address as part of the signup process
for new users. This allows us to notify parents of children who have signed
up outside school, introduce them to Kerpoof, and let them know how their
children are using the site. Parents (or teachers) are also given the ability
to reset forgotten passwords or disable a child's account. Rather than having
your students use your e-mail address instead of a parent's, we highly recomment that
you make a Kerpoof Teacher Account.

Answer:
It's free. Really! We are proud to make Kerpoof free for all schools
and educational institutions. Educators who want to allow use of certain
advanced features (group message board, chat, and buddy draw) can visit
our Teacher Accounts Page for
information on how to get access.
Answer:
No! Kerpoof works in a web browser, so there's no software to
download. It does require Flash Player 10, which will have already
been installed on most browsers. If you don’t have the latest version of Flash,
you can download
it for free from Adobe. Though Kerpoof can be used on any web browser, we recommend Internet
Explorer version 7 or Mozilla Firefox.
Apple Safari, older versions of IE, etc. will also work, but we test these less extensively. If you have
any technical questions, please send an e-mail to educators@kerpoof.com.
Answer:
A lot! Your whole classroom (or even your whole school) can use Kerpoof at the same
time without affecting the speed of our servers. Image transfers may proceed slowly at first
if the bandwidth into your classroom is limited, but the site will run much more quickly after
all the images have loaded once. Whole computer labs frequently use Kerpoof simultaneously, without
issue. Feel free to contact us at educators@kerpoof.com
if you have any technical issues with Kerpoof. We are happy to provide your IT personnel with support
and ideas for reducing bandwidth needs.
Answer:
Ultimately, this is up to you and your school, school district or board of education
to decide. We provide an Educational Standards
page that cross-references Kerpoof activities with a variety of state and national standards, and may
be of use to you in addressing this question. Or browse through our
Kerpoof-based Lesson Plans
(listed by subject) for more specific examples.
Answer:
Students do not have to create an account to use Kerpoof, but the site will
be a more useful tool if they do. Free accounts can be created by students or
teachers without
providing any personal information aside from an e-mail address. With an account,
the students can save, edit, share, and e-mail their work. Anyone can use Kerpoof - and
create pictures, stories, and movies - as a guest only, but all their work will be
lost when they navigate away from the site.
Answer:
